Few actors can boast of Daniel Day-Lewis’s service record. The 64-year-old actor is considered one of the top talents of the film industry and combines the most absolute recognition of specialized critics, who have raised him to the top, and the public, who have revered him for decades.

And it is that we are before an interpreter who occupies a prominent place in the Hollywood Olympus in his own right after receiving three Oscars as the protagonist for his roles in My left Foot (1989), Wells of Ambition (2007) and Lincoln (2012), being the only male actor to do so. Only Katherin Hepbrun, with four statuettes, can boast of looking at him from a higher echelon. Ingrid Bergman, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson and Walter Brennan are up there. That is to say, a chosen one.

In addition, it so happens that he has been a very selective actor and has barely participated in a score of films, among which, in addition to those mentioned, stand out, The last Mohican (1992), In the name of the Father (1993), Gangs of New York (2002) the The invisible thread (2017), which in the end has meant his last job to date. And the final one.

And it is that the actor, throughout his career, has assumed the interests and physical challenges of each character that he played as if his life depended on it. An immersion process that has caused him physical and emotional exhaustion that he ended up paying for.

“I have not discovered why sadness came to stay”

Daniel Day-Lewis

?Before filming The Invisible Thread, I had no idea that I was going to give up acting. When finished, both Paul -the director- and IWe saw you flooded by a huge feeling of sadness that took us by surprise. Until then, neither of us were aware of what we had created. It was hard living with it? and it still is ?, explained the actor in an exclusive interview with W Magazine in 2017.

I have not discovered why sadness is here to stay, but it is related to my decision to stop being an actor. There is something of the responsibility of the artist that hangs over me. I need to believe in the value of what I am doing. Work can seem vital. Irresistible, even. And if an audience believes it, that should be enough for me. But lately, it isn’t. All my life I have talked about how I should stop acting, but now it is different. The decision has taken root in me, becoming almost a compulsion. I don’t want to get sucked into another project“, he added.

“Am I feeling better? Not yet. I’m very sad. And that’s the right way to feel.”

Daniel Day-Lewis

And so, out of an exercise of responsibility, out of an interpretive boredom and out of conviction, one of the best actors in history said enough. “I feel better? Not yet. I have a lot of sadness. And that’s the right way to feel. How strange it would be if this was just a joyous step into a new life. I have been interested in acting since I was 12 years old. When I started, it was a question of salvation. Now, I want to explore the world in a different way “, the actor decided.

Today, Daniel Day-Lewis, who has always tried to keep a low profile and not share too many details of his private life, enjoys his retirement with his wife Rebecca, daughter of the famous playwright Arthur Miller, in the Irish county of Wicklow and exploit some of his passions like him motorcycling, boxing or woodworking, profession for which he studied in his youth before becoming interested in acting. The world probably lost a great cabinetmaker, but a movie legend won.

The commentator and former player of football Tony Romo is “in the eye of the hurricane” after making some comments “in jest” related to the model Gisele Bündchen, wife of player Tom Brady.

The events took place during the game played by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, October 24. It all happened when they were trying to track down Brady’s 600th touchdown ball, which had gone very far, almost to the stands where the spectators were.

The touchdown is one of the three forms of scoring in American football. This awards up to 6 points to the team that does it. That day, Brady became the first marshal field in the history of the NFL in throwing 600 touchdowns in his career, as explained by the specialized media ‘The Shadow League’.

By mistake, the ball ended up in the hands of a fan wearing Mike Evans’ jersey number 13 who, ignoring the importance of the ball, gave it to the fan, according to the ‘New York Post’.

During the negotiations they entered into at the time to get the ball back, Since it was practically a ‘trophy’ for Brady, commentator Tony Romo came in and pretended to narrate the moment.

He, unfortunately, wanted recreate the conversation between the momentary keeper of the ball and the stadium staff.

Romo ‘imitated’ the fan, trying to ‘negotiate’ while the cameras captured the moment.

?A date with Gisele. A date with Gisele and I’m in?, He said referring to the supermodel who is a partner of the historical player. According to Romo’s pantomime, the fan would ask Brady’s wife as a ‘trade’ to return the ball.

Then he began to imitate the representative of the ‘Bucs’ who negotiated, answering himself: ?Okay, Tom will (allow Gisele and fan quote). Once you got it?.

Because of that comment, which was made by Romo as a joke, network users were they outraged and criticized him.

One of the users stated: ?The comment about a ‘date with Gisele’ was totally offensive and inappropriate. Romo insulted Tom, his wife and women in general with his comment. Romo has to go and the other guy who laughed at the comment was so wrong?.

(We recommend: ‘El Chavo del 8’: the viral photograph of Florinda Meza at age 14).

Netizens viewed the comment referring to exchanging the ball for a date with Brady’s wife, one of the highest paid models in the world, as inappropriate.

?Stop being misogynistic. Would you say that if instead of Gisele I was your wife in return, I would appreciate it??Another user tweeted.

It is worth saying that the commentator also received some messages of support from those who claimed that it was just a “harmless joke.”

?Tony Romo scoffed at her comment about Gisele … I’m a woman and that was a compliment, not derogatory. Get over things people?Wrote a user on Twitter.

The one who ultimately did not get away from the incident was the fan, as he received in exchange for the ball a shirt and helmet signed by Brady, another shirt signed by Evans, a coupon of a thousand dollars in the team store and double passes for this and the following season, according to the ‘New York Post’.

So far neither Tom Brady nor Gisele Bündchen have commented on the controversy unleashed by Romo.

As they have told, the couple met through some mutual friends in 2006. They married in 2009 and have two children, Benjamin Rein and Vivian Lake.

Brady is still in soccer and she is on the catwalks.

Will Ferrell realizó varias comedias con Mark Wahlberg. "Realmente disfrutamos trabajando juntos.

Will Ferrell realizó varias comedias con Mark Wahlberg. "Realmente disfrutamos trabajando juntos.
Will Ferrell realizó varias comedias con Mark Wahlberg. “Realmente disfrutamos trabajando juntos.

‘The Last Duel’ is a film with a very topical narrative disguised against the backdrop of Medieval Europe. Ridley Scott’s film brings together Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as lead actors and co-authors of a script, twenty years after writing together and winning an Oscar for ‘The Indomitable Will Hunting’. ‘The Last Duel’ tells, from three different perspectives, the attack on Marguerite de Carrouges (Jodie Comer) by Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver).

Trailer of ‘The last duel’.

After the rape, Le Gris must defend himself against the accusations against him and duels with Marguerite’s husband, Sir Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon). While it may seem like an epic war story, the film offers a social background that Scott has carefully constructed that is about much more than meets the eye. ‘The Last Duel’ features sword fights, beautiful settings, and precise attention to period details. The film was driven by Damon and Affleck, who stumbled upon Eric Jager’s book on Lady Marguerite. Affleck (Berkeley, USA 1972) is Count Pierre, who becomes master and lord of the lands of all and protects the character of Le Gris, his faithful servant and companion of orgies.

-Why did you decide to write this script?

-We believe that empathy is lacking and with stories like this we can talk about other people’s culture. The world of women is ignored in many moments of history, we ignore their presence and that is what the first two acts of the film are about. When Matt was looking for a writer, he suggested the idea of ??collaborating together. We were at a dinner party and I asked him: What is the book about? He told me about it and I found it very interesting. Everything was very organic. Nicole Holofcener, writer and director, then joined to provide the vision from Lady Marguerite’s point of view. We were surprised how the men of the time took very minute notes of what they were doing at all times and had nothing recorded of what women did.

-What would you highlight from a narrative told up to three times?

-The work of the actors. I think Jodie Comer and Adam Driver had the most difficult task in this film. It is very difficult to interpret the same scenes from three perspectives, we were very lucky to have two such exquisite actors. I should also mention the work of Ridley Scott, a guy with a brutal and contagious energy. The big challenge was to show a brutal scene from various interpretations while honoring each character. Each one has their own vision of the events, as in a conversation between two people who when they tell their version is always different. Everyone has different experiences that are rooted in their personal values.

-Is this a film to provoke a conversation?

-I sincerely hope that this film generates catharsis and empathy. I would like it to develop in the viewer compassion for others, to understand that we should not look at what we see only from our perspective. We want the audience to understand that the reality of another person depends on their history, culture and education.

-Treachery and revenge in the France of the fourteenth century. However, at the center of the plot is a woman who has suffered trauma.

-In many cases, women today are still invisible. This is a story that gives voice to an invisible character. It is not just the accusation of a brutal attack, but the fight for justice. We found it important and interesting to tell a story that was not the accusation of a bad person, but pointed to the cultural background shared by Europe and countries colonized by European countries, where women have not been seen as human beings for many centuries. In fact, many residual aspects of that perspective remain. We have done something deliberate, we have pointed out the corruption of the institutions. Today, there are still morally bankrupt institutions with overwhelming misogyny. We have not wanted to accuse a person, but the Church, Science, the Court. They were in command of the education and culture of the people. The behavior is encouraged and my character represents a complete villain because he is the representation of the institutions.

Ben Affleck, Adam Driver and Matt Damon in ‘The Last Duel’.

-Why is the story of Marguerite de Carrouges not so well known in the world?

-It’s a fairly well-known story in France. It is true that, in the United States, no one knew about Marguerite’s life, despite being a powerful and extraordinary woman. The story is like that, ignore the women

-Do you think that women face tragedy better when it touches their lives?

-Women respond better when it comes to processing and recognizing their own emotions. Especially when they share what they feel. Men don’t often connect words and emotions in the same way. Sometimes men see sharing their feelings as a weakness, especially in a situation like the one this film presents. When tragedy comes into their lives men tend to deny. They do not know how to accept or negotiate with emotions.

– Are you in a good moment of your life?

– Age is not forgiving, but it is true that I am in a personal critical moment. I am happy. Life treats me well and I am very proud to be here sharing this movie. We are the sum of our experiences, good or bad, and there are things that I regret.

-Do you feel that no matter how much you show your talent, you are underestimated in Hollywood?

-One ends up understanding the give and take of this profession that I love so much. Part of the price I have to pay is those antagonistic comments. Everyone has an opinion on me and I have learned to live with it. I know well when I have been wrong, when I have failed, when I have lived up to my potential, when I have repented. But I have always been thorough, giving my all in my work. Developing my own criteria is the healthiest thing I have done in my life.

-He has achieved fame, success, money, family. What motivates you?

-I like to face different challenges, I enjoy making movies, watching them, they are part of my DNA. Working makes me happy, at this moment in my life it motivates me to feel proud of what I do.

REPORT CARD CAGLIARI ROME – A victory of strength and nerves in comeback. There Roma, after the good draw won against Naples, goes to Cagliari in the match valid for the 10th day of Serie A and consolidates the fourth place in the standings. It all happens in the second half: Pavoletti deceives the rossoblù fans, Ibanez draws and Pellegrini, with a wonderful free kick, fixes the score at 2-1.

The report cards of Cagliari-Rome

Rui Patricio 7. Decisive. There are few other words to describe him because the miracle on Pavoletti’s header keeps Roma alive and allows him to launch towards a comeback.

Karsdorp 6. The duel with Lykogiannis is not always easy to win and in the first half he fails to push continuously. Better in the second half when he finds the field and also a couple of good intuitions forward.

Mancini 6. He is not attached to Pavoletti on the occasion of the goal, but there is certainly the excuse for Vina’s huge mistake. Then he also devours the possibility of a draw that finds a few minutes later, ironically, the comrade in the department.

Ibanez 6,5. He too watches when Pavoletti tries to send Cagliari to Heaven. But Roger knows how to be forgiven and starts the comeback of Roma with a great header: he is getting a taste for it.

Vina 4,5. He does little in the first half and in the 12 minutes of the second that remains on the pitch he is the author of a huge mistake that paves the way for Cagliari for the momentary 1-0 goal.

Cristante 6. Certainly more in pain than the sparkling performance of Naples. In the final, however, he fights in the penalty area and gives his contribution to bring home the three points.

Veretout 5,5. The breaks to restart the action can be counted on the fingers of one hand (or maybe just on one finger?) And he struggles to pick up the pace, often being very inaccurate when he has to play the ball.

Zaniolo 6.5. He’s in the thick of the game and Lykogiannis always struggles to contain him. He has the big chance on his head for a draw in the second half, then he is decisive when he recovers the ball and gets the foul that gave rise to Lorenzo Pellegrini’s punishment. The goal is missing, but with these performances it will soon come.

Mkhitaryan 5. The continuation of the bad performance on Sunday. Still intangible and dull, practically a ghost in the difficult first half of Roma at Unipol Domus.

Sacramento 6,5. Whether it is his or Mourinho’s intuition, it changes little. After a difficult start in which Roma struggled to find spaces, the lighting arrived: Felix on the pitch to create spaces and numerical superiority in attack. From there everything changes with the team that finds the game and, finally, even the goal. Three points that weigh in view of Milan. He won’t forget this Wednesday night easily.

Researchers from Wake Forest School of Medicine and Children?s Hospital Colorado, USA surveyed 1,491 parents and caregivers who lived in Colorado, a US state where recreational and medicinal use of marijuana is legal. The researchers found that parents who regularly smoked or vaped marijuana reported that their children experienced more viral respiratory infections in the year prior to the survey, compared to children whose parents did not smoke tobacco or marijuana. Parents who smoked or vaped marijuana reported that their children had not experienced other conditions often related to second-hand tobacco smoke exposure, such as ear infections and asthma attacks, more frequently nor that they had visited a hospital emergency department more often in the previous year, compared to children whose parents did not smoke.

Adam Johnson, the corresponding author said: ?The negative impact that exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke can have on children?s health has been extensively studied but the impact of second-hand marijuana smoke on young children is unclear. Our findings identify the potential for increased respiratory infections in children exposed to second-hand marijuana smoke. This could have significant healthcare implications as more states in the USA move towards legalising recreational marijuana use.?

Of the parents and caregivers who participated in the survey, 78 (5.2%) reported regularly smoking or vaping only marijuana, 214 (14.3%) reported regularly smoking only tobacco and 80 (5.4%) reported regularly smoking both marijuana and tobacco. The researchers found that those who only smoked marijuana tended to be younger, educated to a higher level, less likely to identify as Hispanic, and have a higher income than those who did not smoke or who only smoked tobacco. Parents and caregivers who smoked both marijuana and tobacco tended to be younger and were less likely to identify as Hispanic than non-smokers. They also had lower income and education levels than non-smokers, compared to those who only smoked marijuana and those who only smoked tobacco.

Adam Johnson said: ?Our findings highlight the prevalence of marijuana use among parents and caregivers and indicate which children may be more likely to be exposed to second-hand marijuana smoke in a US state where recreational and medicinal marijuana use is legal. These findings could be used to help target and shape public health messaging aimed at parents and caregivers in order to raise awareness of the potential negative impacts that second-hand marijuana smoke exposure can have on children?s health.?

To examine the impact of second-hand marijuana smoke exposure on children, the authors surveyed parents and caregivers who all attended the pediatric emergency department at Children?s Hospital Colorado with a child younger than 12 years old, between 2015 and 2017. Parents and caregivers reported the frequency and location of their marijuana or tobacco use and how often in the past year their child had been taken to an emergency department or had been affected by asthma attacks, ear infections or viral respiratory infections, such as a common cold or bronchiolitis.

The authors caution that the observational nature of the study does not allow for conclusions about a causal relationship between second-hand marijuana smoke exposure and the frequency of viral respiratory infections. Additionally, as the authors surveyed a small number of parents and caregivers in one US state where marijuana use is legal, their findings may not be generalizable to all children living in areas where marijuana use is legal or those living in areas where marijuana use is illegal. Future research could assess the impact that parent and caregiver use of other types of marijuana products, such as those taken orally or applied to the skin, may have on children.

In the beginning was chaos. The land still smelled of cows and manure; sin and scandal flayed their first victims. Darkness flapped its black wings over Hollywood, until director DW Griffith thundered: Let there be stars!

And the most brilliant appeared, the fragile and ethereal girl, the virgin threatened by countless misfortunes, the lily in the middle of the swamp of lust: Lillian Gish, the first film actress.

For eight decades he lit the screen and with more than 90 years he acted, together with his colleague Bette Davis, in Whales of august ; her in the role of Sarah and Davis as Libby, in a film of sadness and nostalgia.

Gish was the filmmaker’s muse and he made her the heroine par excellence, so much so that her entire life was marked by a debt of gratitude to the director and she titled her memoirs, published in 1969: The movies, Mr. Griffith and I .

The two met in 1912, on the set of The invisible enemy and they began a relationship that had its star moments with The Birth of a Nation , in 1915, and the spectacular Intolerance , which was the financial ruin of the filmmaker. Gish, in gratitude, supported his old friend in misfortune, who spent $ 2 million on the film and the film was a flop on the billboard.

Lillian teamed up with Dorothy, her younger sister, and they were so similar that they dressed differently to distinguish them; However, the artistic qualities of the first were superior and she would soon be one of the first divas of silent cinema.

The first relevant role came with Daughter’s heart , but it was with the feature film Judith from Bethulia where she achieved success. He went on to immortality for his role as Hélice, a fragile and honeyed young woman loved by a southern military man in The birth of a nation . From that film Gish will embody the prototype of the superstar.

Between Lillian and Griffith an artistic complicity arose that for many was love, but that both always denied. In fact, she embodied the essential concept of the director’s work, which revolved around the confrontation between good and evil.

XNL6QTUVGZHZPD7RTRTZI755GY

She had an angelic face, a fragile body, a pure and naive expression, a candid look, heart-shaped lips and the stoniness of a child. This was how it marked the future of an industry that was in the making, in the first decades of the 20th century.

Gish’s acting ability was such that he was capable of making viewers cry, as happened with his character of Mimi in Bohemian life ?By King Vidor? in the final scene of his death.

For something, in the encyclopedias dedicated to cinema, at the bottom of his photographs, it reads: “Lillian Gish: she invented acting on the screen.”

Lily of the cinema

Only death made her happy. His career spanned nearly 75 years and he shot at least 100 movies; she even became one of the few actresses with power behind the cameras and above the directors.

The experts disagree on the date in which Gish was born, some say that it was the 14 of October of 1893 and others that in 1896; aside from such Byzantine issues, Lillian Diana de Giche, which was her given name, was the daughter of Mary Robinson McConnell and James Leigh Giss.

James suffered from alcoholism and when she was six years old he abandoned the family, which passed those of Judas to survive.

The creature was nothing stupid and along with Dorothy she tried acting and modeling at times. With the help of Gladys Smith, better known as Mary Pickford, she would come to the nascent Hollywood to try her fortune, detailed the Encyclopedia of the Seventh Art .

Pickford introduced him to DW Griffith, who would be his teacher and friend, and by his side he shot 48 films in three years, where he laid the foundations for cinematic storytelling. With it, the filmmaker developed concepts such as the close-up, the short shot, the fade-chained; the flashbacks , camera movements and outdoor lighting.

Griffith said of her: “Not only is she the best in her profession, but she has the sharpest mind of all the women I have ever met.” In the gossip bog that was Hollywood these words were interpreted as a lover’s declaration, but they both kept a respectful silence.

The actress never married or had children; she had an affair with producer Charles Duell, whom she was about to marry; She dated editor George Jean Nathan and also late actor Robert Harron.

The latter committed suicide frustrated because Griffith hired Richard Barthelmess for the film Way Down East ; In a New York hotel room he shot himself in the heart with a gun he bought from a beggar. He was 27 years old.

Once Gish reached stardom, she became an uncomfortable woman, which is why she preferred to act in low-budget works, in exchange for choosing the scripts and directors herself.

In 1920 he directed Dorothy in Remodeling her husband , with great success, as he demonstrated mastery of all the tricks learned from Griffith, both technical and human.

But Hollywood was a barren ground for independent women with clear ideas and judgment to flourish. The star factory preferred male-eating vampires, scantily clad and loose-hips.

Thus, in 1926 he signed a contract with MGM that gave him control over production; It did not last long because he retired as soon as the talkies entered, of which he predicted – with very bad aim – that it would not be commercially successful.

Rather, she was one of the first victims of the new technology; the paradigm shift privileged sex symbols and Gish was branded as bland and self-righteous.

Starting in 1926, the press harassed her and through a systematic series of criticisms they managed to overthrow her. Magazine Photoplay criticized his role in The scarlet letter by Victor Sjostrom, and said: “Lillian Gish wears the red letter of sin with her usual virginal sweetness.”

At age 31, she was relegated to the attic of human props, as asexual, slimy, and out of date.

First lady

Even in her old age Gish was a very beautiful woman, with a spiritual air that gave her an aura of eternity.

Ever since Griffith saw her in the lobby of Biograph Studios, she discovered a pearl, so she went and sold everything she had to have it and polish it.

She always referred to him as Mr. Griffith and used to say: ?With Mr. Griffith questions were never asked; one was content to answer theirs ?.

Gish was aware that cinema was a universal language, that by standing in front of the camera it could change the world; “It was this ideal of integrity and commitment that united her with Griffith,” said the obituary published in The Independent .

At the beginning of the 1920s, she decided to separate from her teacher and signed a succulent contract with the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios, which made her a multimillionaire.

But the talkies, from 1926 on, felt very bad for him and although he made several talking films, he no longer fit the screen. At thirty she was seen as a museum piece and she decided to leave the cinema to return to her first love: the theater.

Annoyed by the mediocre roles that filmmakers cast women, she lacked the embarrassment to criticize them: ?Lionel Barrymore acted with me, first as my grandfather, then as my father, and finally as my husband. If he hadn’t died, I’m sure he would have had to act like his mother. That’s the way it is in Hollywood: men rejuvenate, women age. “

In that sense, Kevin Brownlow, a journalist from The Independent , said that Robert Mitchum did not want to share roles with her in the film Hunter’s night ?From 1955?, as he considered it a porcelain figurine. To convince him of his mistake, director Charles Laughton sat him down to watch her at Wind , and Mitchum realized that Gish would outshine him with his temper, his genius and his legendary wisdom, to outshine whoever he wanted.

Lillian returned to her artistic old ways in 1978 with A wedding day by Robert Altman, where she played a millionaire, dying old lady confined to bed. She still had the look that captivated Griffith, she still had her porcelain skin and long hair.

The cinema is afraid of the elderly.

When actresses become mothers or grandmothers and have to stretch their skin with countless operations, it relegates them to the attic and the oblivion of encyclopedias.

Hollywood made Lillian a living relic; he forcibly retired her, but she resisted dying in 1970, when she was awarded an Oscar for her venerable career. In 1987 the Academy preferred to recognize Cher – the goddess of pop – as the best actress, for the tear Moon spell , and rejected Gish in Whales of August , who at nine decades was still wasting talent with his face studded with wrinkles.

The hand that rocked the cradle in Intolerance she said goodbye placidly on February 27, 1993. Lillian Gish survived and was reborn many times; she overcame sound, color, unscrupulous and talented actors, and a film industry she founded and displayed as a living relic.

Timbaland made his way as a hit producer for superstars like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, but now he’s creating another path for aspiring musicians to collaborate with the biggest artists in the industry.

While his hit series “Verzuz” with Swizz Beatz remains popular, Timbaland created a new company called Beatclub, a marketplace for selling beats online. It is a digital platform for music creators to connect with musicians, producers, songwriters, music publishers, and record labels.

Through Beatclub, Timbaland seeks to become a link between the unknown and the known.
“I know what it’s like to be a kid sitting in a room not knowing if you have talent, the way this world moves, how these kids get their music heard,” said Timbaland, a Grammy-winning producer and songwriter who has worked with Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Rihanna, Madonna, Drake and more.

“This platform is a place where creators can communicate,” he continued. I’m the head of the ship. But guess what, if you have a ship, you can communicate with me and you will get better. I can point you to a Lil Durk or Lil Baby and tell them to keep an eye out for this boy or girl and give it a go. That could be his biggest dream.

Timbaland hopes to officially launch Beatclub later this year, but a number of top-notch musicians and producers have already joined the project, including J. Cole, Mike WiLL Made-It, Mike Dean, Tainy and Scott Storch.

On Monday, Justin Timberlake announced to The Associated Press that he will also be joining Beatclub. The singer said that he is currently working with Timbaland and Beatclub on their next album.

“When Tim told me about Beatclub, the concept behind it, I thought it was a brilliant idea,” said Timberlake, who won three Grammys with Timbaland for “Sexy Back,” “LoveStoned / I Think She Knows” and “Pusher Lover. Girl ». The duo collaborated on five of Timberlake’s studio albums.

Timberlake said in a video sent to the AP that the platform could be a way for creative people to connect, communicate and share music without being in the same room.

“For people to have access to this kind of technology and platform where they can share things, I find it really inspiring,” he said. ?I am excited to collaborate with people I have not even met. Even the things that we are working on right now with my album, everything is Beatclub. It’s Tim bringing people he has found through this platform and bringing them to me. “

Timbaland predicts that Beatclub will be extremely rewarding and educational for its members, who will be able to retain all of their music rights and income, set their own pricing terms, and retain their publishing royalties. The platform will not receive additional income from subscribers.

“You are learning financial terms,” ??he said. You’re learning about wealth and how to control money and business. It is your own business. It is a place for their tools to be valued when they think they are not valued.

Beatclub is named after the Timbaland Beat Club record label, which launched rapper Bubba Sparxxx’s career nearly two decades ago. The label eventually flopped, but Timbaland had an epiphany one night to keep the name alive, with a different approach.

After waking up, he called his business partner Gary Marella, who worked with him at “Verzuz,” to tell him about his idea for the new digital platform. He was encouraged to develop it after the success of “Verzuz,” which puts two musicians in battle, song against song.

The series was acquired by Triller earlier this year. He has gone from being on Instagram Live to having in-person battles in front of an audience, and could be heading into the touring space, according to the producer.
Timbaland said “Verzuz” improved his business skills while the pandemic reprogrammed his self-awareness.

“‘Verzuz’ helped me go back to my past,” he said. ?It helped me with my people skills and how to deal with people without being sensitive and selfish. It taught me to think both ways, in my business and in coming up with a solution. You see that there is a problem, but what is the solution.

Marella said the idea for Beatclub immediately sold him on.

“I think the world was ready for this,” said Marella, who helped put together an agreement between Beatclub and the National Hockey League to provide custom music for the league’s best games, like the Stanley Cup. The platform also partnered with IBM as part of the company’s mentoring program for startups to offer data protection, privacy and security solutions.

“There are a couple more people in this space like Splice and BeatStars who I can’t ignore and they have been pioneers, forward thinking and disrupting the business in terms of beat licensing,” he continued. But what better person to kick open the door than Timbaland. He is leading the way for all these top producers, songwriters and even artists, telling them that this is the future of the business. “

Timbaland calls this moment in his life a rebirth after having had substance abuse problems, a divorce, being overweight and in poor health a few years ago. But now he has a renewed focus after losing more than 100 pounds, with a new scope in his entrepreneurial endeavors.

“I’ve been re-evaluating everything that happened in my life,” he said. But I’m a diligent guy? It’s about working smarter, not harder. That’s how I move”.

With $ 40 million involved, Oscar-nominated actress Scarlett Johansson solved her problems with Disney after the premiere of “Black Widow” on the digital platform of the Mickey Mouse company.

After several public disputes, including attorneys and lawsuits, the conflict that divided fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was finally resolved. According to both parties, the legal battle was terminated after a hefty $ 40 million agreement that Scarlett Johansson would receive.

In the new normal that the entire planet is living, entertainment outside the home is either banned or has infinite restrictions that do not allow to get the most out of the experience. Cinemas fall into this category, since the rooms where screenings are held are closed environments, a major source of contagion.

?To this day, the public prefers to watch movies from the safety of their home, so it is not surprising that all streaming platforms have grown more than 50% during the first year of the pandemic, especially Disney + with 60.5 million subscribers by the end of 2020 ?, claim from the LateNightStreaming newsroom.

Disney decided to release a movie starring Johansson during the pandemic

It was in this period when Disney decided to premiere “Mulán” on Disney +, the company’s first major film to appear in streaming format before it appeared in theaters. Although according to the collection data the story of the legendary Mongolian warrior was a failure, Disney decided to do the same with the movie “Black Widow”, starring Scarlett Johansson.

The mere fact of belonging to the Marvel cinematographic world made the film synonymous with earnings, so according to Scarlett’s contract, her salary included a percentage of the total theatrical collection, which obviously did not happen. In response to this, attorneys for the two-time Academy Award nominee sued Disney for breach of contract, receiving a response from the company where they considered the legal action to be baseless.

Actress happy with work

Now all that is behind us, because in the statement that came out last week, Johansson said she was proud of all the work she has done with Marvel and Disney, looking forward to the next collaboration. On the other hand, Alan Bergman, content director of Disney Studios, mentioned his satisfaction with the arrangement.

According to various media reports, Scarlett Johansson was compensated with 40 million dollars, a figure that satisfied both parties.
